OK Bills Backers of Virginia Beach, Here is the latest info on the closing of Smokies.
I had a chance to sit down with John this past weekend and it seems that the City of Virginia Beach inspectors who went
out of their way to close his business now apparently can’t seem to find out where it’s located.
He was told by them that he had to fix certain items that they found unacceptable
to them, and after spending several long days making the required repairs they wanted, they were supposed to look at them
and if they were happy, they would let him open in time for the Superbowl game on Sunday.
Well he finished everything they wanted
on Tuesday and called them and was told they would be out Wednesday morning. Then Thursday morning, Then Friday and finally
by Saturday morning, they still haven’t been able to find the place.
He is going
to meet with his lawyers this week to find out what his options are now.
He did find out that some of the issues concerning
the city wanting his land have been addressed, and that they don’t have the big push to take his property right yet.
I asked him if we needed to start taking down our memorabilia in the Bills
room, and he was definitely against any ideas that we would have to look for a new home as of yet.
I do have a lot of information that I unfortunately can’t put out to the public on this web site other than
to say that John is getting shafted from several different people over his buying Smokies, and if they think that he is going
away quietly without a fight, they are seriously underestimating this little Greek.
One last thing I wanted to add here is his charges of “Peeping Tom” My wife and I and several others
were with him in Smokies at the exact same moment he was supposed to be looking into someone’s windows.
Please remember that being accused of breaking the law
is worlds away from being guilty of the same.
We do live in the greatest country in
the world where you are innocent until proven guilty and I would hope that everyone who thinks that spreading rumors and innuendo
about him or Smokies would shut the hell up and get a life!
Has he upset some people, Damn right he has! And I don’t
think he’s done. But he is doing what he feels is the right thing and is standing up for his rights!
